Window Tint FAQ
Have questions before tinting your vehicle? Here are answers to some of the most common questions about our professional window tint services.
Automotive window tint can improve privacy, reduce glare, help block ultraviolet exposure, improve interior comfort, and give your vehicle a cleaner and more finished appearance.
Carbon tint provides a durable tinted appearance along with improved heat rejection and UV protection. Ceramic tint uses advanced ceramic technology to provide even greater heat rejection and UV protection while maintaining excellent visibility.
Installation time depends on the vehicle, the number of windows being tinted, the film selected, and whether existing tint needs to be removed. No. 1 Detail will provide a more accurate timeframe after reviewing your vehicle and selected service.
Window tint darkness is measured by Visible Light Transmission, commonly called VLT. Available tint percentages can vary depending on the film selected and applicable vehicle window tint laws. Customers should choose a shade that meets their needs while remaining compliant with applicable regulations.
Not necessarily. Tint darkness and heat rejection are separate characteristics. Higher-performance films such as ceramic tint can provide excellent heat rejection without requiring the darkest available shade.
Windshield tint options may include a windshield strip or other approved applications depending on the selected service and applicable regulations. We can discuss available options for your vehicle before installation.
A small amount of haze, moisture, or minor visual distortion can be normal immediately after installation while the mounting solution underneath the film dries. The appearance should improve as the film cures.
Newly installed window film needs time to properly adhere and cure. You should avoid rolling tinted windows down until the recommended curing period has passed. No. 1 Detail will provide specific aftercare instructions following installation.
Use a soft microfiber towel and a window cleaner that is safe for automotive window film. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh cleaning products that could scratch or damage the film.
